post-Reichenbach Fall reaction post.

it’s frikking 7+am here, one and a half hour after the series finale ends, and i’m still reeling from its awesomeness.

UGHH I don’t even know where to start. 

I’m much more composed now, but when the episode just ended i ran to twitter and typed some reaction shit (incoherent, of course) with my hands shaking. dammit, this show, what has it done to me!?!?!

I lost it when Moriarty shot himself. WTF!?!?! didn’t see that coming! also before that the whole thing about Moriarty was just an actor Sherlock hired - I think that’s flippin’ brilliant. The look on both Moriarty’s & Sherlock’s face. Andrew Scott is such a scene stealer. Fuck the haters, his Moriarty = LEGEND. One of my fav villains, ever. And to be honest, I was upset when he died. 

Then I started crying when Sherlock talked to John on the phone, with a broken voice. OH GAWD OH GAWD FEELINGS! Then when he fell! (I knew he was gonna do it but I still let out a loud gasp) John’s reaction! Until then I was still not convinced that he’s dead, but then came the clear shot of the body with blood everywhere. And John’s reaction!!! HEART = BROKEN. 

AND THEN THE BLOODY GRAVEYARD SCENE. He can’t be dead. He can’t. AND THEN WHAT JOHN SAID OH MAH GAWWD. broken heart is now shattered into smithereens. I can’t believe I was bawling in front of my laptop, to a blurry stream of a TV show, while curling up under my blanket at 5.30 in the morning. IS THIS IT??? THIS CAN’T BE IT!!!

I was pretty convinced that Series 3 has already been comissioned (and therefore Sherlock cannot be dead), but hope was slowly fading and fading during the last 10 minutes. But when John left the grave and the camera didn’t cut & lingered at the scene… I knew something was up and THERE HE WAAAAAAAAASSSS!!! at that point i just wanted to scream/flail/cry/hug someone. Of course he wasn’t dead. OF COURSE HE MANAGED TO STAY ALIVE!

And then theories started to pop up and scenes and lines coming back. Molly has got to be involved. AHH I LOVE YOU MOLLY HOOPER! And Mycroft, what about Mycroft? Did or didn’t he? But how about the fall? How did Sherlock? What about Moriarty’s body? What was the trick? WHAT DID HE DO? Why did the kid scream on seeing his face? So he was branded a fake, still? OH JOHN! Poor dear John!!! SO MANY THINGS OMG MY HEAD WAS SO BUSY I CAN’T EVEN. 

And then Steven Moffat & Mark Gatiss tweeting simultaneously “Gotcha!” and how series 3 was already comissioned a long time ago (HA! I knew it. but still i hate you guiz for tormenting us like dis) — URGGH I wanna stamp on their feet and send them flowers at the same time. FUCKING GENIUSES!!!

(now I wonder will they explain everything in the third series? they have to!)

Everything about this series has been phenomenal. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are such brilliant actors (JUST LOOK AT THEIR FACES, for starters) with amazing, undeniable chemistry. The writings for the whole series are just pure brilliance - witty, clever, funny, heartfelt. They now have a really big job to keep this all up on the 3rd series. But i have faith in them :)

And now, other TV series will have to work really hard to get to at least half the quality of Sherlock. and to get viewers really invested with it. TV has rarely been this fascinating. This has set the standard really high.

The 3rd series will most likely be in early 2013. I’m okay with that. A year is fine. A year is good. I’m willing to wait for a year. In the mean time, we can always re-watch the past episodes, and I’m sure with every viewings we will always see and find something new - this show is that good. And then of course there’s tumblr :)

Okay, done rambling. I’m gonna try to catch some sleep now. I got about one and a half hour!
